Do you go on an annual "guys" trip?

If so, who do you go with?

Where do you go? for how long?

Do you add to the group and which criteria do you use to add to the group?

Any rules?

My two brothers and I go on a "guys weekend" every year now for 7 years. We live all over the place so some years it's the only time the three of us get together.
We started by renting a full stocked front row motor home at the California Super speedway for a Nascar weekend and have been to Glamis in the desert, Vegas and Big Bear.
Every year the group of guys that joins us has varied from a few to a group of 18 one year. We only invite guys we know and like and my brother and I know each other well enough not to invite guys who wouldn't fit.
It has been a blast and we have yet to have a problem
I would definitely recommend it

Oh yeah just one rule. NO FIGHTS!
At least not within our group.
If you can't hold your alcohol well enough not to fight your not welcome with us.
It hasn't been a problem though

Nope. My wife wouldn't allow it. No way.
Maybe camping or something like that but who want's to go camping with the guys?
Anywhere were there are girls and booze, Big Nope.

When we go to Vegas together she turns in about 12:00 and has to come back down for me about 4:30 or 5:00 when she wakes up. I'll still be playing craps, drinking, completely unaware of what time it is.
All new, 5:00 AM friends.

She knows me well, I am better with supervision.

I have so many "guys trips" it's getting ridiculous.

Every year:
At least one week long fly fishing excursion. Alaska, Montana, Belize, Bahamas, Florida Keys.

Two or three golf trips (usually 3 days) Vegas, Phoenix, etc.

An annual 4 day guys ski trip. Utah, Wyoming, Whistler, B.C.

Annual road trip to a Colorado Buffs game. Could be anywhere.

A few overnights at the track (Laguna Seca or Thunderhill).

At least a couple long weekends with the boys in Vegas.

When people are planning an adventure, I usually get an invitation. I rarely say no. We have a lot of fun, but we won't tolerate ***holes or sloppy drunks. Life is too short.

Deer camp is a good time. Lots of booze, firearms, good conversation, the silent beauty of the north woods.

That is what I aspire to do when I am older. I have a good jump start on trips. Throw in weekend trips to the lakehouse and your life is about perfect.

I go to the nascar races at Infinion Raceway and/or California Motor Speedway every year with the same group of guys. We hit Marin Joe's on the way home for some decent steaks.
My wife has always been good about me taking "guys only" trips. She goes on her "girls only" trips every year too. Fair is fair. A trusting relationship is a big plus.

I used to go on a guy's fishing trip to a pal's cabin on a little glacial pond in NY. The usual card games, training videos, beer, food for 3 days every fall, for about 10 years. We all got too old after a while and then Bobby sold the camp, so done with that. The rules were no fighting, settle in cash in the card games, stay off the lake when drinking.
I also have for 35 years gone on father/son camping trips into the Adirondacks(Harris Lake/Rich Lake/Hudson headwaters) and maybe last year was the last year for that. Now the kids are so scattered it is hard to get everyone together. Those trips together were great times and no women screwing up the fun with their sense of propriety and decency(well, daughter Laura went many times, but she was more like us than them)(but not anymore). We learned all about hiking the high peaks, potato guns, why not to burn Omaha Steak coolers in the fire, why beer bottles always shatter the next day when you pull them out of the firepit, why not to leave food in the tents, etc. I like to think those were some of the best bonding experiences we could have ever had. No drinking on those trips. Now we go on Porsche runs in the same area, and also in Western North Carolina. Not the same, but still fun, still together.

A group of high school friends and I started going to San Onofre for surf trips when we were 16, so I guess it started around 1984. We've been able to do the trip annually since then, save for a couple of years here and there.

It's been funny to watch the progression: At first, we were driving the parents' cars and using the families' camping gear, then driving our own cars and using our own camping gear. These days, there are at least two trailers, a motor home, several barbecues, amazing food day and night, blenders, and a fully stocked bar.

And to think we used to make fun of those old guys.

meet a couple college buddies at caeser's palace about once a year. good to see everyone. but i don't gamble. and that makes vegas the most grindingly dull place on earth.

go on an overnight drinking/hunting/shooting crap trip with a few l.a. buddies once r twice a year. we gather all of our modern detritus, faxes, monitors, cel phones, etc. and shoot them.

i thin k the word is "cathartic".

Some friends go away on a Harley long weekend and one of the guys wife says to him "Don't forget to use a condom." LOL, she knows very well no self respecting woman would have anything to do with him. But I really like her attitude and her husband really feels like he is off the leash.

I went last October to Beijing to hang with a buddy and also a trip to Monterey to drive our cars on Hwy 1 plus Golf.

I am planning at least 2 guy trips. Golf in Palm Springs. Maybe a drive to Arizona.

I try to give my wife an equal amount of breaks if possible..

Did Mexico this yr courtesy of my employer and had a great time. Rules are 'stfu' when you get home. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would like to go again.

There was talk of doing the dove/duck thing in Argentina next year but i'm not really financially able to make that a yearly thing. Would have a standing reservation down there if i had the bux though. Fun buncha guys doing the steak/wine thing every night and busting the hell outta those zippy little appetizers every day...man that's just heaven for a week at a time!

We usually do a guys float trip weekend every year.

All of us Dads take the little ones on a Mommy free camping trip once or twice a year.

We do a Daddy Happy Hour every third Thursday of the month.

Got to stay sane somehow.

I guess we know who wears the pants in that family.

I usually go skiing with my brother and about 40 other guys in our ski club. Neither one of our wives ski and they both don't like cold weather.
