When I lived in Pakistan, we had to watch out for Black Adders. Very poisonous.

What does it feel like to get stung by a scorpion?

I don't know, and hope I don't ever. I do know that different ones have different strength venom.

Yeah, I'm from Florida, and this place is flatter than Florida. I've lived in NoVA where we had plenty of hills and Japan where I could see a snow capped peak all year round from my backyard. I miss elevation changes. It's sad when your only elevation changes are overpasses.

I wouldn't think that encountering a rattler on a bike would be that bad assuming you see him first and don't get bit. I'd feel pretty safe on a bike.

Houston is pretty darn flat. The funniest thing I heard from someone doing the Tour de Houston last year was that they didn't realize how steep and high the ramps on the toll roads were.

This weekend is a fairly flat, 65 on Saturday (a couple of small hillls, and I mean something like 10 total!!!) and Tour de Houston 70 (mile) on Sunday. Next weekend is a 65 mile ride through the day 1 Hill portion of the MS-150. Sunday is the Bluebonnet Express 80 (mile). Both have a lot of good hills for training.
