i need help. fuel pump on a 1981 toyota corolla.

the elderly lady across the street needs my help. she let her car get really run down. she bought a new ford, and simply neglected the older car. i charged the battery, but the car wont start. no fuel at the carb. with a little squirt of gas added to the carb, it will start and run easy. i need to find, and check fuel pump relay/fuse..but i think it is the pump itself. the car had no gas, and she cranked it mercilessly.

ANYONE know this car? help please. nice lady, i want to help.

It probably has a mechanical pump. My 85 Toyota truck did. Look on the side of the head.
