LED light bulbs that replace incandescent bulbs for your house...

Anybody find any reasonably priced, "nice and bright" LED bulbs...?

I picked up a 3 pack at Sam's Club today for $15 that are supposed to each be equivalent to 40 watt incandescent bulbs.

I like that they give off no heat, cost a fraction to run against regular bulbs, the color temperature is decent, but...

These just don't throw anywhere near the equivalent amount of light. These are more like 25 watt bulbs for output. (Not that I'm surprised)

A 40 watt (incandescent) bulb ain't that bright to begin with. The only place I use 40's in the house is outside, actually...the decorative lanterns at the front door and alongside the garage.

My lowest wattage indoor bulb (also incandescent) is 60w, but that is in a fixture of three bulbs. Most single bulb fixtures (lamps) are 100w or greater.

I think you need bigger (brighter?) bulbs.

Yeah I think so too but these are a bit weak for 40's. I have a fixture over the dining room table that had 3, 40 watt candelabra style bulbs, 1 burned out, and I threw these 3 LED units in...not as bright as the 2 funtioning 40 watt bulbs.

Looking for a recommendation on a good 60 and 100 watt equivalent LED units from somewhere I can buy online if they exist.

I am not a fan of the spiral incandescent things. Between the obnoxious color temp and the fact that you can't use them on a dimmer switch...yuk. Not to mention the mercury.
