I need to hire two Java programmers
Hi All,
I work for EMC on the Avamar product, and I need to hire two Java programmers. The jobs are in Irvine, CA. If you know anyone, please email at tyrrill_ed AT emc.com. Here is the job posting for the job: Avamar’s software utilizes patented data de-duplication technology to backup data once – and only once – on a global basis. Avamar identifies redundant data segments at the source, thereby reducing the amount of network bandwidth used and data stored. Using this and other patented Avamar technology, customers can achieve an industry leading 300:1 daily data reduction in real-world applications. Avamar already leverages EMC’s broad portfolio of offerings, such as EMC® CLARiiON® as a target for disk-based backup and EMC Centera™ for long-term archiving. For customers that require both disk- and tape-based data protection solutions, Avamar has been designed to work in a complementary fashion with existing products like EMC NetWorker™. EMC, the leading provider of enterprise data protection software, has immediate openings for senior software engineers. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and innovative programmers to help us advance our award winning Avamar software product. My group was just laid off at EMC. I was happy to be out.
I now why they say EMC stands for Eventual Marriage Counseling! Good luck with the job hiring (not being facetious), EMC does have good benefits and is a stable company. Hopefully you can help two people become employed. t.

Sorry to hear you you were one of the ones laid off. Even if you are happy to be out I wouldn't want to be looking for a job right now. I looked at a lot of resumes from EMC employees for these positions, but none of them had more then minor exposure to Java.
I like working for EMC. I was an employee at Avamar when EMC purchased us 2.5 years ago, and my day to day job hasn't changed much since then. I sit at the same desk doing the same job, and I still enjoy it. The biggest change is I'm now working for a stable, profitable company instead of a small startup that is bleeding venture capital funding. |
