damn! wife cut her tongue! do you think her papaya was booby trapped?

man, the very last hunk of fruit. she found a shard of razor sharp glass, and ended up stabbing her tongue. we are currently applying pressure, and trying to stop the bleeding. she isnt gushing blood. just a small stab wound. like a bad self-bite wound.

think someone jabbed a piece of glass into the fruit? or (bad) luck of the draw. glad she didnt swallow it. i ate a few pieces, but i am not a big fan of papaya.

Sorry to hear this.
My daughter cut her tongue really badly once; we took her to the hospital and they told us they couldn't stitch the tongue. Healed very fast though, it was amazing how quickly.
Hope your wife feels better.

Why wasn't it possible? Because of the location on the tongue? A friend of mine had his tongue stiched once.

sutures can enclose the bad guys..
leading to abcess and other fun stuff...

I'm no Doctor, that's why I specified the specific incident. It was god awful though! She was only about 3 at the time and she bit down on it so hard that it split (forked). She's been hospital prone ever since; now 15.

wow, you were not kidding. she is sore, but bouncing about happy for the most part.

no bbq ribs for lunch. i kept the shard. i will try to take a good pic of it. like a glass icicle.

tongues heal really fast, hope she'll be OK.
