What Happens In LV

In the last 24 hours I have been told of 4 people being robbed at gunpoint on the streets of LV.

1. My friend was jumped by 3 Vato Homeboys..he kicked one in the nutz and dropped him like a sack of potatoes..he then worked his way around to be able to retreat into a restruant. Where an 18 year old kid had retreated to after being beaten and robbed at gun point by the same 3 felons.

2. A man after withdrawing $600 at an ATM was followed to Caesars Palace and robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot

3. An older man was robbed and his car stolen

4. A wealthy woman was robbed at gunpoint and her $5000 purse and contents were taken

Looks like LV is becoming a crime ridden no mans land.

Campaigning to cut down on the buffet lines, Ignatius?;)

Seriously, the times are getting scary all over.

It's no Malibu.

Maybe you should get out more. Go find a nice restaurant or maybe go see the parking lot at Ceasers Palace. Be sure to carry lots of cash with you in case you run across a spoon sale.

Glad I recently got my Utah CCW, which is good in NV.

I'll bet there's someone in the California ASSembly working on a way to spin that incident as an excuse for more gun control.

Vegas always was a criminal town. Should it really surprise anyone that the element is still lurking out there?

Great publicity for tourism, eh?

Rick Lee 03-19-2009 10:00 PM

Actually, Vegas is the last place I'd want to step out of line. I don't think any town in the U.S. has more cameras or face-recognition software in use. They catch a lot of wanted folks in Vegas that way. If you've been to the airport, you've been photo'ed and logged.

I thought all you guys south of the 49 were packin chunks, pull it and use it or leave it at home, isn't that what they call hunting and some people call it a sport , if you want to hunt for sport by the look of things go to vegas, either that or join the Army

nostatic 03-20-2009 07:22 AM

Damn helmet strap was too tight...

Jim Richards 03-20-2009 07:27 AM

whassup with the helmet?

nostatic 03-20-2009 07:31 AM

you have to wear one when riding in a humvee.

Not as stylish as my usual shooting headwear, I know...

Jim Richards 03-20-2009 07:33 AM

Because Humvees are unsafe at any speed? Where's Nadar?

I guess, style aside, you probably had fun shooting. :)

Actually shooting (video) from the gunner position of an up-armored humvee while it is flying along off-road is no picnic. Took one rib shot when I wasn't braced quite right. It was pretty funny though - sitting in the sling, on hand holding the camera up to get footage, the other hand trying to keep me stable on the handle, mic boom pole held between my knees and sticking out the top.

No time to look at the footage yet though...gotta write a script and finish some display spec. Work!!!
