Dorks who are rating the threads one star
 

Why?

Who cares? Who even bothers to rate a thread? On another forum I belong to, users are allowed to rate the individual posters, based on their helpfulness (or lack of).

P.S. - Just gave this thread one star for wasting my click...

I find it mildly annoying to see nearly every thread with a one-star rating, no matter how innocent the content.

I never actually noticed the thread rating until now. Does it really serve any purpose?

I choose to read threads based on the title, not the rating.

How come there is no 0 star option? :(

Lets just say they have different view points about politics and religion than you and I have, so we get one star.
look at it as a badge of honor, a way of them admitting you are better than they are.

EDIT: there seems to be a new rash of one star ratings that don't follow the previous pattern, everyone check your computer to make sure you little kids aren't using it.

would be good if there was a way of detecting by whom the ratings were posted.

I can pretty much guarantee that I'd win on both counts. Ha, ha!

Here's the scenario, I post a thread about my son that has just cheaten death in an auto accident and there are a few replies on the thread when I notice some azshole has gone and rated it a one star? No other threads were hit at the time.

Now if the idiot that did that were sitting next to me, he'd get a slap.
fwiw, who gives a rip, I don't start many threads but that one did pi$$ me off.
I notice jerks do this all the time.
