Stop the Billion Dollar War on the African Community!
Remember Oscar Grant, Jody Woodfox, Casper Banjo, Andrew Moppin, Gary King Jr.
and all the Victims of the Oakland Police Department Policies of Police Containment

Yesterday, in what the media is calling a "routine traffic stop,” four Oakland police officers, two of whom were members of the SWAT team were shot by a young African who was later shot and killed by police in East Oakland. Following the shootings of the first two officers, hundreds of police, sheriff, highway patrol and helicopters terrorized the entire community around 74th and MacArthur. 27 year old Lovell Mixon, the suspect described as having "an extensive criminal history" was killed at the scene.

These events are in direct response to what has been happening in the African community of Oakland. Every day, the notoriously brutal Oakland Police Department comes into the neighborhoods to attack us and we have a right to resist. Nearly half of the city's billion dollar budget goes to support a militarized policy of police containment while one in five families in Oakland communities live below the poverty line. African people are on lock down in their own communities and never see justice for the police killings of African people. Lovelle Mixon is a victim of the policy of police containment and economic embargo of our African community.

The International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement puts forward the following demands:
Jail the killer cops
Reparations to the families of the victims of police violence
Economic development not police containment to the African community"

Isn't Obama supposed to have ended RACISM in America? Why hasn't the Great Obama spoken on this issue. Made one of his marvelous speeches declaring an end to police brutality in our neighborhoods.

This letter does not surprise me in the least.

I understand fully that this guy is a criminal, the event was an obvious tragedy, and a huge % of the people in the ghetto are sociopathic criminals, but i also fully understand their anger.

I've personally seen blacks pulled over or harassed by cops for absolutely no reason so many times it's not even funny. Check that- I'VE personally been pulled over or harassed for absolutely no reason so many times it's not even funny. I've been pulled over in my 928 in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic(where everyone is going 5mph or less) even though my car was 100% legal. Total, pure harrassment. It is EXTREMELY frustrating to the people subjected to it, and it absolutely causes a deep seeded resentment and adversarial mentality in those so harassed.

From what i've been told, shockingly, black cops are legendary harassers of young black guys. In my conversations with black guys, they will universally tell you that black cops are 10x worse than white cops. My own experience is the opposite. Black cops seem, if anything, a little nicer when they pull you over, and i've never had a black cop pull me over for no reason.

Been pulled over god knows how many times by douche bag white cops for no apparent reason though. It's well into the several dozen range. I guess they don't like my long hair or they don't think Porsche's should have water cooled engines in the front.

Or they're just power hungry douches looking to amuse themselves by harassing innocent citizens.

There is racism alive in America, and it isn't a bunch of guys wearing sheets. Minorities are more racist than the big bad white majority.

I am sick of the Police harassment of white affluent Americans. They set up their speed traps in an effort to trap us on the interstates minding our own business driving our expensive sports cars.

They then pick us out, pull us over, harass us for "speeding" and fine us, over and over, our insurance goes up and we end up paying out the butt in fines.

This needs to stop now, my resentment towards these cops is reacing a point where I will most likely do something bold like call the cop a name the next time he pulls me over, then the gloves are off.



Give me a break, don't break the law and you have nothing to worry about, when I spot a police car I do not feel threatened, unless I was doing something wrong which in my case would be speeding. Otherwise its a welcome sign.

Funny, down here a lady from the hood calls 911 for the police to go to McDonalds because she did not get her Chicken Nuggets. No fear of the police in this case. She was sicking them on Mcdonalds.

Then recently we have had a rash of gang related shootings at, of all places, school bus stops in the morning. Now the folks in the hood want cops on every corner, the same ones they say are harassing them, they now want the cops to come in and protect them.
