What Ferrari is this? Looks like a 400, but...

Ok... so aside from the HYSTERICAL side pipes and the Pontiac Grand Prix wing on the back, what's wrong with this picture? It looks like a Ferrari 400 or possibly a 365 GT4 2+2, but there are things amiss. Anyone know what the hell this is?

BTW, if anyone wants to see this thing in person, it's parked daily on N. El Centro Ave. in Hollywood.

I think it's a Bitter SC.

From the net: The SC was based on Opel's biggest contemporary model, this time on the Opel Senator, and was sold from 1979-1989 as a coupe, sedan and convertible. The SC was powered by a fuel-injected Opel 3.0 l-I6 (177 hp) or a bored-out 3.9 l-I6 that developed 207 hp (154 kW). Body design seems to have been heavily influenced by Ferrari`s 400i.

The first SC model to appear was the Coupe (1979), followed by the Convertible (1982) and the Sedan (1984). Production lasted until 1989 with 461 Coupes, 22 Convertibles and only 5 Sedans built.

I was gonna say -- my first reaction was "not a Ferrari." It has the same general profile as a 400-series, but there are major differences.

It's sort of like a 365 but not exactly. The front bumper/headlight area is completely different from any 365 that I can find a pic of online.

I saw a GTC/4 on the freeway once. It wasn't the most beautiful Ferrari ever, but it was much prettier than that thing.

Exactly. Wow, trying to pass that off as a Ferrari, that's sad.

Actually, I think the owner is trying to pass it off as a ricer!

Personally, I would've waited around just to see what kind of d-bag would do that crap to a car.

That's nothing--there is a guy running around locally with a newer Kia--replete with a leaping cat Jaguar hood ornament and Jag fender badging--he didn't even remove the Kia emblems from the back...weird.

Well...at least he's parked where he belongs...in the handicapped spot. I didn't know they gave those placards away for mental illness, though.

Those side "vents" must be the adhesive stick-ons that you can buy at AutoZone.

Actually, the owner flagged me down after he saw me snapping pics.
Uhmmm... he had a "player" air to him.
Claimed that the car was rare and it had just been in a Rihanna video.
I just smiled and said "I've never seen a Ferrari with side-pipes."
He was just happy someone was taking pics of his ride.
Pretty sure he was oblivious as to why I was... comedy comes in all forms.

He was a nice guy though, so I can't really pick on him.
Not everyone has the same tastes.
He was proud of it.
