Mama begged me to go fishing!!

Well my 79 year old mother has been asking me to take her fishing for the last couple of weeks. I finally took her today and I didn't get a single bite.... She however landed this 10pd carp... on a perch hook.....

Ahem...you had a better day fishin' . I did hook one of them nasty things (at least that big), on 6lb test line one time...I had a a LOT of fun playing it until I got it to the side of the boat .

ps: I bet your mom had a blast though!!!

I would have hoped for a 10 lb perch on a carp hook. Do you eat them bottom feeders?

I was thinking about putting some salt & pepper on it then flour it and throw it in the skillet... once it's done cooking I will throw the fish away and eat the skillet....

Seriously though.... I will probably deep fry it in corn meal..... alot of people don't like them
because they are boney, but they have nice white meat and they really don't taste too bad....the bones are large so it's not a problem finding them while eating.... this one has already been filleted...

I hear the trick is to get the "mud vein" out. I tried it once but I think I cooked it wrong. I would try it again.

Would you tell her the folks in New Zealand think she's a champ.

You are very lucky to have such a lovely Mom.

Glad I could pay one of you guys back... Sometimes, I am laughing so
hard that the family has to come to this side of the house to make sure I am alright....
