What is "ads.gdmodules.com" and why does it lock up my computer?
 
I surf Pelican on several machines, but on my laptop, running 2000 Pro, Pelican consistently locks up IE when it apparently tries to load "ads.gdmodules.com" when moving from thread to thread or post to post. Ideas?

Probably an adserver. The GD module is a graphics rendering library so not sure how it's tying in.

Try turning advertising off in your browser prefs and see what happens.

Personally I'd ditch IE.

My default browser, Camino OS X, allows you to block advertising.

So for example surfing Pelican I don't see any of the advertising (minimal) that Wayne has running.

Don't know about IE though.

Add that address to your HOSTS file. It won't even try to load.
