Way Cool Electric Car

This company is a couple of miles from me. Two seat trike (registered as MC), 120 mi. range on 6-8 hr battery charge, 90 mph (equiv. to 200 mpg+). Front crush zone, side air bags, built in roll bar. Room for 2 7' surfboards or about 15 bags of grocieries behind the seats. Hits the market by the end of this year starting at $20K.

Nice website: http://www.aptera.com/look.php

I want one!

Agreed. It's cool. But it looks completely impractical beyond just a commuter car - which is exactly what's wrong with cars like the Smart Car.

If this car were boxy or even shaped like a Prius and had four doors, then I'd be sitting up with attention.

IMO, this vehicle just looks silly for the sake of being different.

This is what will eventually replace those archaic diesels in the L.A. Port.

It's entirely electric.

People who own those are going to walk out after having a nice meal at a restaurant and find it sitting on top of a dumpster because it was light enough for four frat boys to pick up.

I wanna see what one looks like after being t-boned by a Kia Spectra.

It's interesting looking, but there is such a thing as going too far.

I think it's pretty cool. Except for the all-weather aspect, I'd rather have one of these.

Same basic thing, but much more fun.

Yep. I'm pro-Green. But everyone should have a limit.

I saw one at lunch. Down on Water Street. I bet it is some marketing blitz - drive around Manhattan for a week. Pretty wild looking on the street.. I think a Nano would whup it in a fair fight.
