California Festival of Speed This Weekend

The annual California festival of Speed is this weekend at (California) Auto club Speedway in Fontana. POC/PCA Porsche club racing.

I will probably be volunteering in the pits for a while Sat/Sun.

I usually see Wayne and his 959. Anyone Pelicanite planning on going?

Ahh, memories. In '07 I had a 3rd on Sat and a DNS on Sun when I dropped a half shaft on the way to the track.

Good luck Jim. I actually may be down in Encinitas this weekend in your stomping grounds...if my back is healed up enough. I hope to make it out to a POC event this year to hang out and am thinking of tracking the A3 at an STS just for grins.

Why for you in Encinitas??? No surf for me...healing a fractured tailbone snowboarding. BUT...I did think of you last Friday...I was at the Scottsdale Gun Club bustin' caps on my buddies 1911 and we rented an MP-9 full auto. Fun stuff!

My g/f has been offered a residency/fellowship at some Artists retreat down in Encinitas so she wants to check it out.

No nothing for me - sciatic nerve acted up and I've been walking like an 80 year old since last week. Slowly getting better, but getting out of a car is an adventure in pain. Still owe you beers for running at Buttonwillow - that was a hoot. Are you going to do Laguna? Maybe I'll ride up again and watch like I did last year.

My big car is sooo down on power when I make sound at Laguna...so, if my little one is done, i'll take that. Either way...i'm in. Woulda bought you a burrito at Karinas and we could go check the surf...maybe next time.
