Cpu guru's I need HELP!!!

Man, I spent most of last night reinstalling th OS and reloading CA security suite... IE8 and malwarebytes..... I don't know how I got that virus, I was running hijack this, spyware blaster, spyware guard and CA security suite...

The problem I am having now is that I have a Compaq Presario SR1703WM
(Wally World special) I have installed an additional gig of ram and installed a Sound blaster Audigy SE 7.1 sound card and a Radeon 1600X video card on the system.. as well as a Pioneer CD burner...

Anways, right now I don't have sound, My view is horrible, and the videos on you tube are all upside down....

I need to access the old drivers that installed with the recovery discs and delete them and then install the new drivers that I have....

I have gone into the control panel/system/hardware manager, and cannot find them... I believe that when I originally removed them that I went to start/run/ and then entered a command that pulled up all the drivers so that I could remove them... any help at this point would be greatly appreciated, as I have been working on this all day...

Home this makes it easier...

I'll save you some pain...the YouTube thing appears to be an April Fools joke, so don't sweat that too much
The OS install should just give basic barely enough to run video and audio drivers, you need the Compaq factory drivers for the audio, and the Radeon drivers for the video. AGP or PCI? I ran a low end Radeon card for a while, and had issues getting the drivers to work at all...and the card would overheat when they did. go buy a better card. However, before then, look up "omega drivers", it's a freeware handbuilt driver set for the Radeon cards that seems to work better.

Do you have drivers from HP/Compaq themselves for the audio? Don't install the video drivers from Compaq, they'll conflict with the Radeon drivers, you'll need to remove them anyways.

Also, it's possible with a Wally World crappy computer (I have a crappy computer too ) that you have address conflicts.

Hey Pazuzu,

I have my ATI (Radeon) video CD and my Creative labs (Audigy) CD with drivers, I just need to know how to remove the Compaq audio & video drivers.... so that I can install the correct ones...

Throw the CD's in the drive (1 at a time) and let them install.

Yeah, I can read the font if I go to 800x600, any larger and the words get pretty small...
I went to my website and the smf forums look like they are in disarray, they are supposed to be dark gray page... and when I look at it, it is a white page with no styiling... I am confused on this one...

Radeon x1600
Radeon x1600 secondary

On 800x600 res. it looks like a pdf file... you know how some times the pdf font looks out of focus...

How about uninstalling the Radeon card from device manager, reboot - with the video driver disk in the drive and see if it gets picked up on reboot?

I got to laugh about this really, I have worked on it too long... the little window that pops up when you put your cursor over a thread title? normally it is small... with small font... now it is large with large font... and if I click on the thread that was posted "what kind of scam is this?" the font in the thread is almost not readable...

On the menu bar at the top of your browser, there is a "view" selection. You can select text size there. I think medium is default.

What about other applications in Windows? Do they look OK?

Replied to PM.

Thanks Dave.... I figured out what was wrong... I was getting a security message when I would go there, and it would ask me if I wanted to show all... in IE8 it reverses the question and asks if you want to only show the secure info... I was clicking yes.... did you get a security message?
