I drive through that intersection all the time. It's a weird thing, there have been a lot of bad accidents there. Because of that, they have over the years reconfigured the entire intersection to try to make it safer. Hard to understand why so many fatal collisions happen there, it is at the top of a fairly steep hill, so you'd think speeds would be slower.

'77 Porsche? That's kinda slumming it for NB.

That's wild, a news article that got the car, year, and model correct!

Very sad though

Damn...that was a hard hit! Another tragedy in Orange County. WTF made a guy in a '77 decide he wanted to mess with a Ferrari????

Sad story, but one question keeps nagging at me:

What KIND of Porsche?

This is going to do nothing for the rep of the 1977's.

First headstuds, now this.

A 911 (I assume), it's the only Porsche in most people's minds.

what's with these ferrari's that keep breaking in half upon impact?
you would think that a car that can 180 mph would have a stronger monocoque [sp]?

Yikes.

I'll never understand what continues to compel people to such idiocy on the streets.

From the article:

Quote:
The Porsche had moderate damage, indicating that it had collided with the Ferrari, authorities said.

Tim
Tim,

Maybe here's the answer:

From the Tapout website -

---
MASK
Mask is the militant face responsible for the TapouT brand and lifestyle - a movement, really – “an expression of combat known world wide.” Whether it’s scouting fighters all over the country or being present at every single fight, Mask is one of the most recognizable personalities in the combat sports world. From a clothing line, to sponsoring top-notch fighters, to an original reality TV-series, Mask is a cultural revolutionary, constantly evolving. You’ll never see him without his makeup or without his fierce approach, and you'll definitely never catch him off guard – instead, Mask will prey on you.
----

In this case however, the telephone pole won the fight

If they were street racing he will get charged with vehicular manslaughter.

I don't know if they get convictions, but getting charged with that while you were involved in a deadly street race is common.

Actually, they got it wrong. It was a 360 Modena (possibly Challange Stradale) not a 599.

OK, I got it wrong. They did update the article with the correct car! Sorry about that!

I suppose it's poor taste to mention it, but technically the Porsche 'won'

Seriously, another sad case of street racing/DUI. And what is a 51 year old guy doing playing these games? Take it to the track where it's legal and a helluva lot safer
