Real estate people, new scam?
I was hustled today. The guy gave me a business card after working in a pitch for his "real estate investment education." business. The motto on the card says, "We Create Real Estate Investors." I told him to f' off, in a more or less polite way, but mentioned I will visit the Web when I got home.
OK, he says, go to "richnation . com" Well, there ain't squat about real estate or investments there, so I Googled the motto. Bingo. Craiglist all over the place. Here's what one CL ad says, "Introducing a Wealth Building Program that can be created from the comfort of your own home. If you are ready to break free from your current financial limitations and can visualize yourself making $10,000 to $20,000 a month you deserve to receive this information. (contact info deleted) (not MLM so don't ask) Our full time Associates average $100,000 dollars income in their first year (will verify). We deal with Real Estate and Real Estate Education, and unlike everybody else right now we are booming!!! All Training Provided, come willing to work." This has scam written all over it. How 'bout it? |

Sounds legit. The tipoff to scams: make $15k/mth in your spare time. They don't mention this, so you're probably cool. Remember us little guys when you're bringing down serious green, man.

Yeah, I saw that one on CL too. If it's not a scam it's one of those deals where all the little people do all tha work and the top dogs make all the coin, lots of carrots, few success stories but overall just another MLM scheme in wolfs clothing!
With R/E and rates at att ractive prices lots of people wanting to get their R/E license to get in on the action, so they may be accomodating these types. Either way, having been in R/E industry here in Ca for 10+years I'd say this stinks! Plain and simple! Kind of like the "loan modification" scams going on everywhere... Be careful Milt

Anybody who has a great money making system, and is willing to create competitors for a comparatively small amount of money, is obviously selling snake oil.

Was doing an infomercial project for a guy who really was a genius at making real estate deals. Problem was you could not "teach" what made him successful. They guy just had a natural ability to sniff out and work a deal. He was checking out a foreclosure on a commercial property one day when he saw someone scoping out the mature trees and goes over to him and strikes up a conversation. Guy was a landscape architect with a wealthy client that was looking for mature plantings. My guy makes him a deal for the trees which covers the down payment on the property, he floats a note for the rest and flips it a month later for a profit, no money out of pocket. You can't teach that stuff.

One of the MLM schemes is to not call it MLM because that throws up red flags. They sell training tapes for people to listen and get hyped up about sales of X. As it turns out some of the biggest sellers are.....you guessed it.....the sales training tapes.
You build wealth by selling information and tapes on how to build wealth in real estate to others who will then learn from the tapes and sell them to still others.....but it's not MLM.... ![]() My advice is free(about all it's worth, anyway). Buy low and sell high, man. You make money when you buy....not when you sell. Don't sweat the small stuff. (And it's all small stuff). Never pet a dog that's on fire. Always remember who you are and what you are.... It's mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter.

I think it sounds legit, but I'm already making too much from my Vitamin sales, and I don't want to get knocked up to a higher tax bracket.
