You guys are just too kind and considerate. Thanks!

I am back from a weeks skiing holiday with my kids. A little place called Storlien, where the Royal family have had winter cottage for decades. Storlien is about 40 miles west of Åre, a place you may have heard of. Its also just a few miles from the Norwegian border at the point where the Swedish army tried to invade Norway at the end of the 18th century. They did not succeed and lost 3000 soldiers in the fierce, snowy winter conditions during their retreat back to Sweden.

Anyway, we had a splendid week with great skiing and relaxing. Coming back down south the spring has definitely arrived. Warm and sunny. The old 911 is now back in service!

Not quite spring skiing as we know it.

Still real snow.

Not that ice crystal stuff you normally associate with spring skiing.

You can't do shorts and tees on the glacier. Due to altitude you will get burnt to a crisp if you do not cover up.

However, hanging with a hot swedish chick and strolling around town with her in 80 degree weather in a tee and barefoot wislt carrying your skis after a day of dodging avalanches is certainly a once in a lifetime experience.

They only shut down for a couple of weeks a year to move the lifts back up the mountain.

The lifts flow down with the glacier.

Winter is more off season for them. Just too damn cold and hostile.

Thanks, guys! I feel like a new fluffer!

No, I did not bump into the princess. She is adult now and do not want to hang in the kindergarten. She is probably in Saint Tropez or something. I had my own little princesses with me.
