Question Am I the only one who felt a possible quake?

I was in my kitchen in Mission Viejo about 20 minutes ago and felt a sharp jolt accompanied by a little boom. The house shook for maybe two seconds and then all was still.

I've read nothing of it and the news mentions nothing. I wonder if some fighter pilot in the area may have inadvertently exceeded the speed of sound, creating a sonic boom in our area?

Then there is this:

Scientists Monitoring Quake Swarms Near San Andreas
Apr 06, 2009 11:27 PM Apr 06, 2009 11:27 PM

In Southern California, scientists have their eye on a swarm of quakes in the desert. More than 450 quakes have hit near the Salton Sea since March 21.

The southern end of the San Andreas Fault hasn't snapped in more than 300 years. But scientists worry small quakes could act as a trigger for the big one.

"It's very close to the locked section of the San Andreas Fault. Anything seismically that happens there definitely gets our attention," said Cal Tech Seismologist Kate Hutton.

Scientists are installing 22 motion sensors on the 800 mile fault line that slices California from San Francisco to the Salton Sea.

A temblor in the southern end of the fault could hit San Diego County within a minute of rupture.

Experts say everyone should have earthquake preparedness kits ready with plenty of food and water stocked up.

If you notice on the earthquake map, there are a buch of little ones at both 'ends' of the fault. The middle part is devoid of quakes.

Me thinks that part (Saugus to Salinas) is storing up the tension.

Am sooooo glad to be away from all of that.

I think they do, but jeez man, if this was a gun, it sounded like the shell landed a mile away. I mean...the house and the ground SHOOK. I've heard those guns for many years and from my house they sound muffled and do NOT shake the ground.
