My Grandfather was as well, I couldn't have & wear his ring until I earned, last weekend I made, Friday night there was a Ring Ceremony and my Mother gave me her Father's ring:D

Yep...Scottish Rite in 1993

rouxroux 04-04-2009 05:43 PM

"Under the Double Eagle" has a little different meaning, eh?

If you went Scottish, go back and learn it through York...A wee bit different than just "seeing it".

Congratulations.

Been dark for a couple years. Need to get back. Still blue lodge. Haven't decided on Scottish or York.

Congrats, brother!

WHy do you think they wear fezs? Lots of room up there...

rouxroux 04-05-2009 10:50 AM

"Ain't never gonna' do it without the Fez on, oh no";)

On a sad note, the 1st Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children (which is here in Shreveport) may have to close due to budget problems. There are a few that may have to be consolidated.

My great grandfather was a 33rd... I haven't gone Scottish rite as of yet, but see my new post... Congrats on your 32nd brother.... will probably join the shrine sometime this year hopefully.....

"I couldn't have & wear his ring until I earned, last weekend I made......"

I had the idea the 32nd was more bought than earned, as opposed to the first three.
I'm just a lowly MM, though they trust me enough to be treasurer of my local for the last five years.
