Questions on first generation I-Phone
 

A friend of mine is selling his first generation I-Phone and I have been told that I can use it with T-Mobile if the phone is unlocked. Is this true?

He's not sure if AT&T will unlock the phone so is it possible to find a vendor that can unlock it?

What is the going rate for a 1st generation 8G phone??? He's asking $300 and I think its worth about $250.

Yes, it will work with Tmobile once unlocked. ATT won't unlock, nor will T-mobile, but you can usually find a place through craigslist or just googling that will do it for around $20. There are also tons of step by step instructions on the web should you decide to do it yourself.

$300 seems a little steep, I sold my mint 8gb for that last summer after I bought a 3g. I would think 200-250 is a little more reasonable .
