Glucosamine

I do the Elations Glucosamine/Chondrointine drink once a day.

It's like $7 a six pack.

We only shop once a week so do the math.

Anyone have 1st hand experience with anything else?

I got some from Costco, ~$20 for a big bottle. Not sure it's doing anything for me, guess I have to stop and see if I creak more.

I'm starting a regimen of Certo and grape juice. I think I'm seeing results after the 4th day. If you don't know this old home brew, look it up on the Peoples Pharmacy. Of course after strolling a couple of miles yesterday at the races, I'm pretty stoved up.

GNC Triflex

$43 for a 32 day supply, assuming your taking it every day works out to about $1.40 a day. I was told after 2 months to stop taking for a while until you feel problems again.
I am about 2 weeks into a 2 month cycle and already noticed my knees are quieter now. I really do not have any pain so this is more preventative for me. The knees make to o much noise to be o.k. ;)

I just take the glucosamine/condroiten pills twice a day. Breakfast and dinner. It's the only thing keeping me going. I stand on concrete for 10-12 hours a day, and have knee injuries from football.
$50 for 100 tabs.

+1 for the big bottle from Costco. My knees got much better after using the stuff for a couple of months. I wasn't expecting it to work... my wife bought a big bottle, opened it in front of me and said, "We can't take it back now, so you might as well try it." Fine. I took it thinking it was a waste of time, but I have to say after years of knee pain it's been quite a relief.

+1 on glucosamine and condroitin tablets.

Big bottle at Sams is about $20. After years of increasing knee problems including aching and swelling, a chiropractor friend told me to try glucosamine. Almost immediate help and within a few months no more knee problems. Been taking it now for about 10 years but switched to 1 tablet a day years ago.
It works.... for me anyway. I have laid about 1200 ft2 of ceramic tile the past 6 months - you can't do that with bad knees.

I get inflamation of joints, like knees, hips etc and get REALLY good results with Lyprinol (google it). It is a natural anti-inflamtory derived from shellfish - green lipped muscels (sp) specifically. It is not as good as Voltaren of course but isn't bad for you. I've had it every day for years. It takes a few months to kick in but I wouldn't live without it.

i did straight glucosamine pills from the drug store, i need to start back again, problems with the hands, among other things, from playing drums.
