For source & sound:
It would be easiest to run the system off of a laptop or PC. Use DVD software. Set your laptop res to match the highest res of the projector. If you can, the addition of good video & sound cards will improve things - sometimes dramatically. Add a pair of amplified speakers for sound: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1239064338.jpg The pair above has a remote & surprisingly good sound for $399 Retail. Ian |

The one you linked to would probably work for your application, but you really won't know until you get your hands on it. Specs mean nothing because EVERYBODY lies since there is no industry 'standard'. The bulb cost is a factor as above. My projector bulbs are $700 cost. That's not retail either. But my bulb has been working fine for 4 - 5 years or so with about 5 hours per week use. My projector is 13' from screen & I have a great 6 ft wide (not diagonal image). I could make it bigger but it would overpower my room. Ian |
Thanks, IAN.
BTW...how are the room monkeys doing in their honeymoon condo? |

FINALLY...after two alleged shipments were "lost" by UPS, received the one in the first post today.
Hooked it up and it works amazingly well. Simple to use, audio is sufficient for my purposes. Suprisingly clear pic when 18' feet from screen yielding a 10 foot wide picture. Peckerwoods who've seen it are raring to have a Bristol night race party in the back yard. Neighbor wants to use it for an outdoor movie party for his kids. Thanks, Ian, et al. |
