Track day with the Thruxton

This was at Harris Hill Rd track near Kyle, Texas. Good times...

On Turn 1, the hairpin, right out of the pits. Nice shot of the checkers on the cabbie:

Getting advice from 2 instructors:

Lastly, me on my buddy's supermoto. wicked, knife-edged fun. But didn't know its limits very well:

Nice, I bet it was a blast on a motorcycle.

I was there on Sunday with the 911.

Great video--looks like you did well. Did you like the clockwise or have you never run it ccw?

I'm trying to get the pass to go to the next trackday on the 25th and it's run CW...Jack

Pretty cool that one of your instructors was Colin Edwards!

That's John, who owns totalrider.com, the motorcycle safety school in Austin. Good guy, pretty fast. Jim, my supermoto buddy, can keep up with him on his new superduke (which is kind of ok, btw).

Thanks on the video, I think my line was decent but there is always room for improvement. I'd dissect it more, but I'd be writing all night on what I could have done better. :)

We ran CW and I believe that is the way it was designed. I'm sure CCW would be fun too. Overall the course is fairly technical compared to TWS and is a blast to drive.

Every time I go, I keep want to join but I know I'd spend every weekend there thrashing my car.

Whats the white bike on the right side? Super Duke?

nostatic 04-09-2009 08:16 AM

At first glance I thought it was a Shiver, but the light shape is wrong. I believe it is the Super Duke.

Mike Bonkalski 04-09-2009 10:05 AM

It's a 690 Duke.
