Yes. When there is a news story about a neighborhood that is paralyzed in fear because a couple of punk kids graffiti the overpass as often as the city cleans it...

I mean, come on. How hard is it (should it be?) to get a couple of your rotten old vet codgers to sit out on that overpass one night with their shotguns and cell phones, and beat the tar out of those kids as a neighborhood? You know they're coming, so wait for them, and remind them who owns this town...

But, even something as "simple" as that won't happen. Instead, they call the city and ask them to paint it again, so they can continue the process.

If I carried a gun, I'd have been locked away long ago, just from one day of walking around my neighborhood. grumble grumble freaking stupid lazy fat stupid lazy useless braindead shmucks...

He stops to get a plate number, the driver's side window goes down and he defends himself, deadly force vs. deadly force. None of us has a duty to back down or run away from criminals.
