Ever bring a car in from Canada?

I'm thinking of importing a 40 something year old 911 from Canada. The car has no engine so it would be on a trailer. Anyone with any experience doing this I would welcome your input and how best to proceed.

IIRC, NJ requires all cars to be registered, even if it's a restoration project sitting in your barn. Gonna be tough to get a car with no engine through.

On the flip side, I have a guy from Canada interested in my bike. But my odometer is dead and reads 999999 miles. I wonder if he's gonna have trouble importing that.
