Epoxy Shield questions
Want to epoxy shield my garage, but it has already been painted. (Previous Owner ) with Unknown paint (oilbased? latex? dunno).
Do i need to strip the paint off of the floor or just scuff it? --

To do a 100% job, the floor should be shotblasted, prior to applying the epoxy, $$$ to get someone to come and do a small area..
However is the old coating is well adhered? call up the tech line of whoever makes the epoxy coating you want to use, and ask them about application over existing coatings.

I'd say it depends on how well the old paint is adhering to the concrete. You may have to etch it and prime it to get the epoxy to stick.
