LOST- tonights episode

well, tonight and last week are my favorite episodes so far. very interesting.

the very last scene - any idea how that happened?

van people must be Bens peeps in some way? And how the heck did Farraday get off the island to get back to it? He obviously knew Miles, so it had to be a "present day" farraday.

my guess is that Farraday went to the Darmas with Sawyer (or shortly afer) and has come and gone as a scientist? if he did not become a part of the Darmas with Sawyer, how did he get off the island?

yes, thats right, sawyer mentioned farraday when the jack and and the rest got there, so maybe he went back on the sub a few years earlier or such..

I was just guessing that Miles' expression of surprise was not supposed to mean, "wow, how did you get here?" but more like, "Hi, wasnt expecting you back for a while"

otherwise, Farraday would have had to get off the island somehow and then get on the sub somehow... that doesnt seem likely. it only makes sense if he is like Sawyer, now a Darma but this the first we are learning of it

When Sawyer was captured, did he ask for a few days to look for his friends? or did i imagine that... maybe he went out and found Farraday and brought him back?

I gotta go back and watch prior episodes, this stuff is heavy duty brain strain

Don't forget the woman that died in Farraday's arms said he was crazy.

I don't know where he went, but in that one timeline they showed him near the dig where the time travel wheel dealy is located.

Tonights episode was good.

I +1 on the shroom comment, and love the fact that VW emblem is missing on the vans replaced with the Dharma one.

I thought it was interesting, too, that the info that was on the chalkboard that Jack was erasing while he talked to Roger dealt with the ancient Egyptians. Hmmm.

Nice to see Naomi again and to find out the genesis of Miles' request for $3.2 million.

i think that given last week with the egyptian symbols in the temple where Ben was allowed to live, the egyptian theme is pretty important, somehow...

over the weekend, i was searching through netflix to find an instant play movie to watch and in the sci-fi section, i came across a 1960 movie called "The Time Machine". I fast forwarded through the movie to see what it looked like and it appeared to me, that the are some striking similarities to LOST...............i didnt actually watch the movie, so i could be way off..... but my initial impression was WOW, the writers watched this

On tonight's episode ("Some Like it Hoth"), Miles was kidnapped by a genuinely pleasant group of people (for kidnappers) who explained that it would be a very bad idea for MIles to start working for Widmore. The leader of these people said that they're "the side that's gonna win", hinting that this is a battle that's been going on for some time.

It's the DHARMA Initiative. It's gotta be. If it isn't Ben's people, it's gotta be DHARMA.

Think about it: we know that the Swan Station was still getting palate drops of food from someone all these years. We know that DHARMA built at least one station off the Island (the Light Post)... and we know that Farraday arranged things so that he could leave the Island and come back. We don't know what he was doing yet, but someone (Ambrose?) had a good point when he said that Farraday might have actually designed the Light Post.

I think it's clear that DHARMA/the Hanso Corp. still exist outside the Island - if you've ever watched those Internet videos ("the LOST Experience") that ran between Seasons 2 and 3, you can see that Hanso's replacement, Thomas Mittelwerk, is arranging things to stop the end of the world from happening (as predicted by the Vanzetti Equation); to do so, he's planning on releasing a plague that will wipe out somewhere around 30% of the world population (2 billion and change). Although not technically part of the show, these videos were created by the show's producers and writers, and are considered part of the LOST "canon".

The interested "third party" is DHARMA. It has to be - it's a war that's been waged for decades, and until recently, DHARMA had no idea how to find the Island again. It's possible (if not probable) that Aliana (SP?) represented one of these new badass DHARMA folk, POSING as a bounty hunter. They were put there on the plane - with as many Oceanic Six as possible - in order to find the Island. Remember: Aliana uses the same password that the kidnapper asks Miles: "Do you know what lies in the shadow of the statue?"

If Aliana and Nouveau DHARMA were intentionally put on the plane in order to find the Island, I think it's also possible that Eloise tricked Ben and is actually working for DHARMA.
