Is US Postal Sevice the best way to ship a 15 pound box to Europe?

I have an Ebay auction going and have the auction available worldwide. The item is an Italian version of an Erector set, so it weighs around 15 pounds. Someone sent e-mail from Italy asking how much shipping would cost and it looks like $65 or so through the post office. When I look at rates through FedEx and UPS the rates are much higher making me wonder if I'm missing something. Is there a more economical way to ship from the US to Europe?

Here's the auction:

My wife sends things to her family in russia all the time and the United States Postal service is the cheapest hands down. Takes longer but what the heck.

Absolutely. And if you can get it all to fit in a USPS flat price box, I think it's $39 or so.

Unfortunately the wooden box won't fit in a flat rate box. Hopefully the cost of shipping will result in more bids from the US. I should post a link to my auction on the Ferrari boards. Maybe the Italiophiles would bid it up.
