Nikon D 100 question

Yes, I know my D 100 is a dino but I do like it and it performs well. The biggest CF card I have been using for a while now is 256mb. I can't seem to find an answer on whether I can use a 4GB card ...or larger..or not. I do have the latest firmware installed. The Nikon web site is not up to date on this as they say the largest is 64mb if you can imagine that.

Anyone out there know about this ?

I have a 2gig in mine and it works fine. I can try a larger one tomorrow and report back.

Dave,

My thanks amigo. I'll look forward to your new info...

Here's what I found...

My 2 gig gives me:

RAW - 205
TIFF - 112
JPG fine - 606
norm - 1.1k
basic - 2.2k

The 4 gig:
RAW - 410
TIFF - 225
JPG fine - 1.2k
norm - 2.3k
basic - 4.5k

The 8 gig:
RAW - 390
TIFF - 214
JPG fine - 1.1k
norm - 2.2k
basic - 4.3k

I am going to guess that 4 gig is as big as you a go. BTW, don't bother buying UDMA CF cards, as the D100 does not support UDMA, although the cards will work. They cost more.

Dave

Excellent Dave. Many thanks for your efforts. Good to know I can go with 4 gig.
