Myth Busters taking on faked moon landing. On now

Pretty cool.

Non parallel shadows from one light source just busted.

Porsche-O-Phile 04-19-2009 06:27 PM

So (let me guess) they're saying it was legit?

I've never doubted it.

The Illuminati bought off the Mythbusters years ago.

I heard about that episode but never watched it. Did they talk about the mirrors that were left on the surface?

To this day, there are mirrors on the surface that are regularly checked via laser to determine the distance from the earth to the moon. This is how we know that the moon is moving away from the earth at about 1 1/2 inches a year.

The laser bounces off the mirror and comes directly back to a sensor, and the time is measured. There is no way those mirrors could be there if we didn't put them there.

That's the biggest thing IMO to dismay all the non-believers.

Yes they did. They went to an observatory and fired a laser to see if it returned. They used the Apollo 15 site.

Pretty simple to point a modern telescope at the moon and let visitors take a peek at the space junk left behind. Why not just do that and end the silly debate?

Porsche-O-Phile 04-19-2009 09:14 PM

Well, I suppose the mirrors COULD have been placed there by an unmanned probe, but I still maintain that all the Apollo moon missions happened exactly as reported and the mirrors were in fact placed by hand.

kstar 04-19-2009 09:45 PM

I can't believe this is even still an issue.

There could have been no landing because there is no moon.

i remember the blonde welder girl. nice, but a little too punked out for my tastes.

wold like for them t do a 9/11 troofer episode. i don't know what else would get to some people.

p.s. at the end of that episode, as the credits roll, kari byron runs around the aircraft hanger in a catholic schoolgirl uniform screaming and slashing balloons with the wolverine claws. should have won an emmy for that alone.

I have a close friend in SF who does shows with them a lot....usually gun and explosive stuff. I have been trying to get down there to see this hottie in person but so far no luck. My buddy and I co-own a Bowling Ball mortar which is gonna be on one show sometime soon...or so he says.

Interesting: Nixon speech in case things hadn't gone well.

http://watergate.info/nixon/moon-disaster-speech-1969.shtml

Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace.

These brave men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, know that there is no hope for their recovery. But they also know that there is hope for mankind in their sacrifice.

These two men are laying down their lives in mankind's most noble goal: the search for truth and understanding.

They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be mourned by their nation; they will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned by a Mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown.

In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man.

In ancient days, men looked at stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood.

Others will follow, and surely find their way home. Man's search will not be denied. But these men were the first, and they will remain the foremost in our hearts.

For every human being who looks up at the moon in the nights to come will know that there is some corner of another world that is forever mankind.
