Epileptic (grand mal) seizures in an elderly person...

About 20 years ago my father (now 77 y.o.) developed a seizure disorder. At first they were relatively mild and infrequent. Over the past 5 years they have increased in frequency and severity. Most recently we're seeing 2-3/week. Primarily nocturnal.

He has been under the care of a variety of neurologists and most recently underwent a 3 week study at Emory. They have completely changed his meds trying to find something that will keep them under control but we're not having much success.

Anybody else have to deal with this, particularly with an aged relative?
