How to remove logos painted on a car?

My old boss gave me a '95 Taurus wagon and a 16' box truck. They both have the old company logo professionally painted on the doors. Any ideas on how to get them off? Even if I did succeed, I'd think you would still be able to see at least an outline or something...I'm thinking covering with a new logo door magnet may be the best choich but thought I'd inquire here first.
Thanks

depends on how long they have been painted, think fading so yeah you'd prolly still see something

i'm sure some vinyl would work good, depending on what color they are.......darker the better.

Might try slowly/gently wet-sanding with 1000 grit. If it comes off, then finish with 1500/2000, then polish compound.

+1 It'll take a while, but if you're careful this is the process.

Easy-Off oven cleaner

I'd go with wetsanding. Most likely the lettering was done with One-shot paint over the clear coat so a bit of sanding work and some buffing should leave no trace unless, as someone stated above, some fading occured to the rest of the vehicle.

if its painted, sand, or some paints use specific strippers, like graffitti remover. I got a phone co. boxter van, and i used a hair dryer to remove decals, works on police cars too. You are gonna love that boxter!

Speaking of graffitti remover, I had my company box truck tagged by the local wasted youth. Where do you go to get something to clean that up?

just buff it off. the graffiti. i hope they didn't use as many "t's" as you:D

haha, they tagged mine 2, years ago. They sell the grafeeety remover at lowes, or a detail shop can do it.

I've seen oven cleaner work, but have not done it myself.

Anything you do, paint will be faded where it wasn't covered, so there will be shades of difference.

Don't spend much time because you will likely be able to see the shadow and read it just like it is still on there.

Cover it up with something else.
