Fixing throttle cable on my R25/3

My throttle cable coating/sheath is separated from the little metal piece that attaches to the lever thingy (sorry to be so technical; i don't know bikes). Have ordered a new throttle cable but looking at the lever/grip mechanism it isn't terribly obvious how this is fixed.

Anybody know how this is done (and have pics)?

Thanks,

while i'm at it i could use some instruction on attaching the cable to the carb as well. i know there are adjustments to be done but have zero idea how to get a good starting point.

at this point i have valves adjusted but still need to do wiring and fuel lines (along with the throttle cable) before i fire her up.

If you could post a photo of each end of the cable, we could probably be more helpful. Not all cables are attched the same and I'm willing to bet that the umpteen decades between when your bike was built and when mine were built might have some influence on what you need to know.
