Indy Car...Bob Jenkins back in the booth, cool!
I wondered where ol' Bob has been. He's gettin' up there in years, but he's one of the best. Anyone remember the original Speed Week with Jenkins and Larry Nuber?
This is gonna be a good year for Indy Cars. They're here in the ghetto next week. |

I too, am glad to see ( er, actually hear) Mr. Jenkins in the booth. He is the voice of racing in my opinion.
I sure hope indy car can build their way back into some percentage of the popularity the old CART days--they have a ways to go. Open wheel racing is my favorite for sure. A.B. |

After some of the greats including Chris Economaki calling the Indy 500 (he called some F1 races too, but was getting older and a little slow at the mike), Jenkins called a few. He will call the IRL races on Versus this year.

Ol' Bob did a good job this weekend. I preferred his team to what the other team with a Bob at F1 has become. I can't hear what the F1 guys are saying because they all talk at once.

Boy that was one BORING race this weekend, Long Beach. It wasn't like the old days, but a good crowd. Passing was nowhere, and if nobody can pass Danika, it has to be tight. The old days had a different atmosphere to them.

Good announcing by ABC...did the race ever get exciting? I had chores to do, so gave up on it part way through. It was "follow the leader" until I left....

Whoops...you answered my question as I was asking it. Glad I got the chores done.

It wasn't on ABC, it was on Versus; figure that one out, a small network only on some cable. IndyCar has sunk to the lowest of lows as far as TV coverage goes. The most interest from the least viewers.

Those two guys were awesome in the day. Weren't they the original ESPN CRASHCAR announcers?
