Quick question for the camera guys.
I have a Canon XTi. My non IS 18-55 mm lens broke, so I am in the market for a new lens. I have been looking at the 18-5mm IS lens that canon sales.
Will this lens work with my body? Will the IS lens mount up correctly?SmileWavy Thanks guys. |
Any Canon EF or EF-S lens should work.

Thanks a lot Dave.

Yes, it should work. I can't directly say about the IS lens, but I know that the kit lens is not known for it's stellar image quality. The IS may use the same optics in a better frame (plus the IS). You'd probably be better off getting a better lens, maybe an L lens $$ (something fast/ low f value).
You may find some good info here, I think the newest reviews are about a year old. http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/reviews/ This is the PelicanParts of Canon photography/gear. They have a lens only section. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ |
Well I hate not having a lens for my camera. It's stupid just having my DSLR body wasting away. Decided that I would buy a slightly nicer (IS) lens. Plus, my mother is flying to Europe in a few day's and I want her to take my camera with her.
