Rumor has it that this is from the Charles Manson Collection circa 1978. Recently recovered from a Sand Canyon garage.

I have NO idea of the accuracy of the claim, thats just what the present owner is claiming.
Most likely will end up on e-bay if a local buyer can't be found.

'68 or '78 didn't matter much to me either way, I had no intention of bidding on it.

i'd change the rollbar and go play in the forest with it.....it's missing the shovel that fits in the side :D

He was probably convicted in early 72.

Manson murders in '69. Not a very good "rumor".

He probably used it to bury someone up there on the ranch and forgot where he left it.

So I asked the guy "Whats up with the buggy?" He say's he collects them and brought this in to my neighbor to see if it would run. It's been in his family forever but hadn't seen the light of day since before he could remember. I asked him 'bout the Manson connection. He say's that Manson liked to steal vw buggies back in the day and even if there were some connection to this specific buggy it would be a mute point as there wouldn't be a paper trail or any documentation to support the claim. He claims that this buggy was stolen many years back and was recovered in the area that Manson occupied with his followers. Rumors...............
