Central Fl. airboat rides?
Where is the best place to airboat out of C. Florida? We're looking for a non-touristy "old Florida" authentic experience. I'm thinking somewhere off the St. Johns rather than Lake Jessup. Looking for more of a swamp experience. Gators are fine and all that- but we're more about the scenery.

IIRC, there was a place to ride airboats on the St. Johns located off highyway 528 (Bee Line). It was on the south side of the highway, right near the western edge of Brevard County.

Yeah, it probably is. My wife has been on airboat rides from that location, but not the paid rides. She used to work for a state agency that had their own airboats. They just launched them from that location. She also enjoyed it very much.

Was it Lone Cabbage Fish Camp? I took an airboat ride years ago and it was a blast. Right outside of Cocoa on 520 or 528 if I remember.

had the opportunity for an airboat ride in the everglades, it was a blast and i'd love to do it again;

they give you toilet paper to stuff in your ears. seriously.
i'd recommend bringing your own ear protection if you want to protect your ears better, these exposed motors and propellers are loud.

You are correct hook682. Lone Cabbage Fish Camp and Twister air boat rides off the 520 near Cocoa Fl. You mentioned Lake Jessup that would be the Black Hammock Fish Camp. Just around the corner from the my farm. Gator Country Go Gators.

Also check out centralfloridaairboat.com out of the Jolly Gator Fish Camp, probably the best tour of all. Enjoy!
