My sis-in-law has been evacuated...

...from Santa Barbara; the city in fact. Seems as if the Jesusita Fire is burning toward the city. /

Bummer. I hope her property will be OK!

The weather is crazy today. I left Marina del Rey at 5:30pm and it was 72 degrees. I traveled about 3 miles onto Sepulveda and the temp gauge on the bike read 85. Another mile north it read 95. When I pulled into my apartment near Santa Monica Bl and Sepulveda, it read 100. At 6pm.

At 9pm it was still in the mid 80's and windy as all get-out. The ride home from class was scary on the 10-405 transition bridge.

I hope all will be well for her too. It's really her friends who live up in the canyons that seem to be the worry.

Meanwhile, the winds are driving my dog crazy; if he's not scratching (dry skin?), he's hiding from blowing blinds and doors that mysteriously close on their own.
