I'm heading to Europe from March until the end of May, and would love to get some local culture wherever I happen to be. can't offer a place to stay, i'm just moving house, so i won't be settled properly in march, might be better end of may, but too soon to plan anything like that.

I can show you around the Battlefields of WW1 in Ypres(where i live, and go fast on tiny country roads)

and if you care to go to some WW2 V1/V2 sites, there is a massive one just across the border from Ypres
i'de be more then happy to drive and go along, as i've only been when i was a kid, 20+ years ago and i can't remember enough of it, so i'de wouldn't mind going again...

I work in Ghent, very good fun as well, Big midieval castle/dungeon of the count of Flanders, with torture chambers and stuff like that , despite being a living city, there's ton's of history in it, authentic unlike Bruge which is more clean a tourist attraction

Brussels , is ok, it's an aquired taste, best in Xmas period, rest of the year i find it a bit stuffy, but that's just me...

From Brussels, Ypres is 140 km towards the coast, towards Dunkirk...
i work in Ghent, that's about 60 km from Brussels same direction.

Ypres was the big Salient where the Brits held the the Germans at bay in WW1 , you can't even imagine what went on around my home town

The V1/V2 site is Blockhaus Eperleques.. look it up, it's just across the border in North of France. The bunkers are so big, that a tall boy bomb mearly chipped off a bit of concrete

Our apt was on Bebelstrasse where Omi had her business.

She lived up on Herderstrasse.

Well, I definitely plan on taking the trip to "Mecca" and going to Stuttgart.

Stijn...are there any notable races at Spa or Nurburgring between March and June? And yes...I'll bring my umbrella. Looking forward to meeting you.
