Anyone We Know???

Sounds kinda familiar;)

The driver hit the traffic light pole and sheared it off at the base, and then kept driving for about 2 miles to Squires Four Pub, where he stopped for more beer!!

How impaired do you have to be to NOT notice that you are carrying a stop light in your grille? (I Wonder if the light was green?)

The truck was towed about 2.5 miles to the impound yard, with the light still pinched between the two tow hooks and the bumper bent around it

It took several good hard pulls with a backhoe to get the pole free.

Looks a lot like my first accident....two weeks after I got my license and did similar damage to a gorgeous 1970 BMW 2002.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story...

Who ever T boned that pole didn't drive that truck anywhere after. I have a Dodge truck like that and know what would happen to the radiator, serpentine belt and all the other things like power steering and brakes with the entire front end of the engine smashed in. If they were able to drive it, it would have overheated in the first half mile and blew.

I think most will agree..

My .02 cents

I had a buddy in high School that did that with a jeep CJ. He kept the bumper for years on his wall. Funny thing is he also drove the jeep home with a large portion of the pole(wood) still lodged in the bumper. His dad and mom freaked the next morning. He claimed he wasn't impaired...wet road and sorry Jeep brakes.
He also had the same Jeep catch on fire when a speaker wire came loose, arced and ignited gas that had leaked from a milk jug...Jeep kept on going. Damn tough vehicle.
