maybe the explosion triggers a flash at the same time and everyone gets transported to another time?

i dunno. im still wondering how juliet managed to survive what looked like a 200 foot drop along with many tons of steel and debris being sucked in

It was just the small fission core, down a 240 foot well, with lots of debris sitting over it. Probably almost no damage at the surface.

The well was 72 meters when they tried to turn the drill off, we can assume it made a meter or more deeper, but the drill head might be a meter long, so well say 235 feet to the floor where she landed.

I'd wondered if they will use that somehow to explain the reason why nobody can have children. There seem to be enough running around on the island at the moment anyway. Of course what Pazuzu said makes it seem like much too small an explosion to do that.

well, the DRILL could have been down that far, but the tunnel opening was probably only 30 feet deep or so...
