Mexican Prison Break

Posted: 07:24 PM ET
MEXICO CITY, Mexico (CNN) — Mexican authorities are searching for 54 inmates and a group of armed men who freed them from a prison in central Mexico, state media reported Saturday.

The group raided Cieneguillas prison in the state of Zacatecas, releasing the prisoners, according to Notimex, Mexico’s official news agency.

Army and police officials are working to locate the fugitives, Notimex said.

What's another 54 criminals? Like adding 54 drops of water to an ocean. Be hard to notice.

I doubt the authorities are searching. Hiding probably, but not searching.

In a bigger picture, this is what will be hoarding over our borders.

Just imagine the state of a country and society when an armed band frees 50+ inmates from a prison! I would like to think something like that could never happen here. However, add that to the recent murder of 4 teens who went partying in T.J., and it adds more reasons not to go across the border - and like Hugh said, they should be showing up here soon. After all, where else can they go to get better protection and services???

You get what you pay for... Poorly compensated prison staff contributes to a breeding ground of incompetence and corruption. These incidents happen world wide... Even in the US...

Look to the most violent U.S. Prison Riot in history...

Patrick, I know you're in the business, but when have we had that kind of prison break in the US in the last century?

rarely coming from the outside, but plenty of takeovers from the inside. The worst one was the New Mexico Prison riot in 1980. Hit the link above for the stats of that incident. What I attempted to imply, was that something like this doesn't come without help from the inside (dirty cops.)

Our prisons are just as bad.

There are tons of corrupt guards, administrators, the whole nine yards. My exes father used to tell me stories that bordered on fantastical, and he was dead serious.

My new girl just told me last night that half the guards in her prison were dirty, and it's one of the main reasons she stopped doing it. She was only a guard for about 2 years, she just couldn't handle the whole environment, and i don't blame her at all. That's no damn place for a lady to be spending any time.
