the odd thing is that she hasn't given birth.

as some may recall, we have a new baby, five weeks at this point.

is there a connection and how weird is that?

Maybe.

The dog could also be going through a false pregnancy. Search the web. There is info on this.

even more interesting is that my dog seemed to skip going into heat this spring.

my dog's teats are nowhere near as engorged as those in the link. also, she isn't having any odd behaviors. she just seems interested in our new baby, but not overly so.

Same thng happened t us last winter with out little female Cavalier...We were doing everything we could to avoid any of our "Intact" males from getting to her. It scared us to death when she had the false pregnancy. And be prepared, it can repeat itself in later cycles.
