SATA drives and 1.5 vs. 3.0 compatibility

you would not believe how hard it is to get straight answers for the question i have. believe me, i've looked.

i want to get a new hard drive.

my motherboard has a SATA 1.5 interface.

are the 3.0 drives backwards compatible?

Yes.

There should be small jumper near the SATA connector. There should be cryptic notes on the PCB as well. What make/model drive?

no specific drive yet. i am looking at seagate TB drives.

It should not be a problem.
