No, but I did have to sign a lesbian oath when I bought it, requiring me to reaffirm my "women-only" stance.

And that is a narrow stance, thank you very much...

Are 993s down into the low 20's? For a good one? Yeah, I bet that would be cheap to keep running :p

Higher mile examples are to be had in the low to mid 20s. There was a fire sale here on PP lately. A 993 is cheap to run if you do your own work. Even if you have it serviced, the lack of depreciation will make up for it. Just buy a C4 if you need to go off road. ;)

That first one was a score at $19K. The other ones don't send me.

I'm not going to go there...I can't have a 911 as my only car (not enough hauling space) and am not going down the track slippery slope.

Well, for now...I am interested to run the Subie at Streets and compare times with what my 911 ran.

The good think is the routing is all very well laid out and it looks like hoses and connectors are high quality. They are saving money on the interior compared to the Audi.

But frankly the engine compartment on the Audi was a pita because everything was covered by a shroud...kind of a big black box. I hear it's easy to work on though (looking around for Tim) :D

Wonder how it does with concrete blocks in the freeway? :D

onewhippedpuppy 05-22-2009 08:08 PM

Purty car. As a bonus, being Japanese you won't have to sell it when the warranty is up!;)

Nice score man! Subaru's are the best.

I miss my '85 GL, want to buy another one but they are hard to find.

The 99' Outback Sport was nice too, but it was loud inside, and a total Lesbo ride.

4 cylinders - horizontally opposed like gawd intended.

As a matter of fact, both my vehicles are V180 engines. And the other is even air cooled...

JavaBrewer 05-22-2009 10:43 PM

Those 993 links were sobering. Wow. I'm still 12+ months of saving before I am with 911 again but maybe I need to adjust my sights further down the road a bit.

Todd, I'll take a rain check on that Palomar Mtn challenge...by then you'll be able to rev the Subie past 4K too.

Congrats on getting rid of the Audi, as once it neared the end of it's warranty, it's value would have dropped like a rock. No doubt the Subaru stands a better chance of living a longer trouble free life. That said, my midwestern conservative brain will always associate Subies as liberal, gay or tree hugger mobiles..... No amount of pictures/videos/laptimes of bad@ss Subie race cars will change my mind. :D

nostatic 05-23-2009 09:36 AM

Do I at least get to choose between liberal, gay or tree hugger?
