edit a very old post?

how can i go back and edit a post when the "edit" icon is no longer there? ive got a build thread that is as old as last november and is still clammered for by a select few. to cut a break to the big birds server i was going to remove some picture that might be considered "excessive" at this stage & cant... can i change my past and redecide all my bad choices and regrets with a drop down menu choice i know not of?? how can i take away a picture of removed carpet laid out ever so gently so i can post another shot of the A-pillar gussets looking all sexy in gray?

Wayne made a change a few weeks ago. Posts over a month old can't be edited.

I found this out as well.

Just add a new post to the thread to revise it.
