Back to topic;
I saw a yellow one last week on the road, I liked it...

Bryan, they never made a 67,68,or 69 Z-28 convertible. And the new ones are not avaiable in convertible form either. If you saw a Z-28, it was a fake. (Well, they did make one for Ed Cole at GM, but its the ONLY one).

I want to send these d-bags a clip of Top Gear or 5th Gear to show them how a proper car show SHOULD look. Good freaking God, a middle-school film class could do better. I only made it 3 minutes before I became too annoyed to go on.

I visited a fab shop today.

They were re-welding a defective Camaro 'safety item' that had been produced by a now bankrupt supplier. I have no idea how many 'defective parts' are on cars now....maybe none. Maybe lots.

Just sayin'.

I'm not a fan of the new Camaro, but remember that the old one was not a tasteful thing of subtle perfection in it's day either. It was a cheap hot pony car that guys with mullets could afford to trash. .

I've seen two new Camaros in the last two days, they're actually pretty striking cars in person. Definitely a car that you notice. I like it better in person than in photos.

Saw one on my street the other day - black. At a passing glance I thought it looked nice.

My 944 got beat by a yellow one in the sportscar class at a local show.

I like the looks but: I was checking out this SS in our parking lot. Notice the wheel weights on the Brembo calipers :rolleyes:. Both side front calipers have the weights. A little unanticipated problem with vibration perhaps?

Probably a popularity vote thing. (edit) On second thought...a sympathy vote with GM in bankruptcy?

Sure makes the Challenger look nice.

onewhippedpuppy 06-24-2009 11:32 AM

If nice = bloated and heavy, then yes it does. I won't be buying a Camaro either, but the Challenger is a monster of a car. Remember how big the original muscle cars were?

Making an original muscle car look small takes a large vehicle.

And that large car does everything performance wise better then the original, is safer then the original and gets better gas mileage doing it. Just wish it was about 5 or 6 hundred pounds less, which is what an original 70 challenger weighed. Of course the original didn't have side curtain airbags, brembo brakes and a whole host of other things required by our Safety Naxis these days.
