An oldie but a goodie

My license terms specifically states that any use of a kart on a public road is immediate loss of license. It would be a blast and no street legal car could catch a 125 shifterkart. On the track, only winged cars can turn faster lap times than a shifterkart.

I take it you've never driven a full on race kart. I'd say he hit close to 100 a couple of times. 130MPH takes a straight like Willow Springs. The street driver hit 80, IMO, many times in that video. On the gas is instant acceleration. When racing, you're WOT or braking, he was cruising, albeit at speed. You can't stay "on the gas" in a shifter kart unless you know the next turn, baking point, etc. If there is uncertainty, you're in big trouble. They are that fast.

Can you imagine riding a 100HP bike in only one of 2 modes? Gas or brakes? You wouldn't last 20 seconds on city streets.

I have driven on the street in daylight and always fantasized about driving on the freeway. But, I guess I'm not as stupid as I look. The thing is, a cop would have heard that thing 10 blocks away. That and a couple of calls form cell phones and that dude would have ended up going down a different road, if you know what I mean.

125shifter is right, all the sanctioning bodies prohibit any street driving. And they are serious.

When I earlier answered Tobra's question of how fast the karts were going with "130 mph," I meant 130 on this course.[IMG][/IMG]

That looks like fun! And here I thought karts were for kids.

I want one! not for the street though. Would it fit in the back of my 4 runner?

When I first clicked on the thread and saw him roll out at night like that, I thought "This guy is going to be badass!"

Then he . . . clicked on the headlights! And drove around relatively sanely.

Just a 4 wheeled motorcycle.

Assuming. And BTW 80 on a pretty much straight road that's three auto lanes wide? This is not much of a thrill, for a thrill seeker who videotapes himself.
