I cringed for the original poster (and that doesn't happen often) as he proudly posted multiple pictures of someone's pet lizard with a bullet through his head.

Hello... PETA? I'd like to report a case of lizard abuse. Yes biological agents are being used. Does a Pelican assaulting a Lizard fall under your jurisdiction?

The monitor lizard that made waves recently in the Lost Lake subdivision was sunbathing on the banks of a retention pond Sunday morning when a police officer took aim and popped off two shots at the elusive reptile.

Just as quickly as it had been hit, the 41/2-foot creature jumped into the water.

"There's no doubt that the thing was shot," said Lt. Dennis Stewart of the Casselberry Police Department.

But is it dead? :eek:

The lizard had managed for months to evade police, wildlife officers, trappers and a few radio listeners who wrongly thought a local...
